Evidence for a glycinergic cortico-lateral hypothalamic inhibitory pathway in the rat

Abstract

To determine the neurotransmitter involved in the frontal cortex (FC)-lateral hypothalamic (LHA) inhibitory pathway, the effects of transmitter candidates and their antagonists on FC-evoked inhibitions in LHA neurons were analyzed using multibarrel iontophoretic and extracellular recording 3ethods. The result suggests that glycine is involved in this inhibitory pathway.
