Abstract

The search for an effective vaccine against GABHS infections has been ongoing for over 60 years. This article details the obstacles that have stood in the way of developing such vaccines, shows choices of antigens being considered as vaccine candidates, and provides information concerning the development of multivalent M protein-based vaccines.
