Abstract

Because administration of human albumin is expensive, empiric, and controversial, a method of determining the amount of human albumin required to safely meet a predetermined endpoint would opitmize administration and possibly result in considerable financial savings to the hospital. The purpose of this study was to use a previously published predictive equation to determine human-albumin replacement dosages and then to compare the SAC after replacement with the predicted SAC.
