Abstract

Metastatic malignant carcinoid tumors are highly resistant to radiation therapy and are generally resistant to chemotherapy. This report was prompted because of the extremely rapid regression, on three separate occasions, of an extensive intra abdominal metastatic malignant carcinoid tumor of the small intestine which occurred in a patient treated with adriamycin given as part of a combination chemotherapeutic regimen which included cyclophosphamide and methotrexate, and on a fourth occasion when adriamycin was used alone.
