Synthesis and characterization of binuclear organolanthanide alkoxides [(C5H5)2Lnμ-OCH 2C≡(CH)]2

Abstract

The reaction of lanthanocenes Cp3Ln(Cp = C5H5, Ln = Yb, Gd, Ho) with the equimolar propargyl alcohol HOCH2C≡CH in the THF forms three new dinuclear organolanthanide alkoxides, namely [Cp2Ln(μ - OCH2C≡CH)]2 [Ln = Yb(1), Gd(2), Ho(3)]. These three new complexes have been characterized by element alanalysis, IR and MS spectra, Indicating they are oxygen bridging dimers.
