Abstract

The authors treated five eyes of three patients with Reis-Buecklers' corneal dystrophy by blunt dissection of the subepithelial fibrous tissue layer. The postoperative follow-up ranged from four months to three years. Four of the five eyes had improved vision, and all four symptomatic eyes had cessation of the recurrent erosions. This simple effective technique eliminated the need for corneal transplantation.
